There is a critical need for I.T students to become more involved and engaged in practical activities.It is time for exploration and discovery rather than just information. The world is a dynamic place as a result mankind is continually left behind I strongly believe that computer technology should be introduced to everyone including the smallest baby. This will increase knowledge and interest in the area. Everyday students are filled with information but there is no where to use and apply this knowledge this aught to change instead of spending two semesters with theoretical background we should instead use the second semester to do practical application based on what was taught in the previous semester. This will enable us as students to be well rounded. By this method a students previous knowledge is tested and reinforced by training or practice.

Many students, myself alike learn best Kinesthetically, we not only enjoy practical activities but we learn most effectively by them. The schools need to take these things into consideration it is time for change......

    so true i really think that we should have hands on experience to go out into the field. being technologically incline i agree that we as IT students should completely transform into the world with both information as well as hands on knowledge. Knowledge is power but having a skill is greater.

THEY WILL BE WELL ROUNDED AND BETTER OF INTERFACING WIT SUCH APPLICATIONS, AS A RESULT IT WUD EXPAND THEIR KNOWLEDGE RATHER THAN JUST KNOWING THEORY......>>>#REAL$DEAL

    I agree to some extent because we are regulated by a particular curriculum which embodies both practical and theoretical practices,now i think that theory and practical should be done side by side in the same semester. this way what u have learnt during the course of the semester will be applied in the same semester u have learnt it other than going over it in the other semester where over the period of the holidays students would have forgotten majority of what was taught.
